Odense - the Town of Fairy Tales
Welcome to Odense, the town in the middle of Denmark, and home town of the well known Fairy Tale writer Hans Christian Andersen.
Odense has lots of beautiful squares, exhibitions, museums, an international Zoo, a historical village, the famous “small town area” around the museum of Hans Christian Andersen, Brandts area with Tidens Samling and at Brandt exhibitions of modern art.
In the center you will find lots of nice café’s, restaurants, ice cream bars everywhere, and lots of them placed at the squares – also behind the Cathedral, downstairs at the Fairy Tale Garden, there is a nice small café etc.
If you look down at the sidewalk, you will here and there find “food prints” of Hans Christian Andersen. In some of the traffic lights you will see Hans Christian Andersen with his high hat and walking-stick in the part for pedestrians – surely we are proud of him.
You will find out, that most of the things is within walking distances, or you can catch a very cheap bus, or rent a Voi or Tier scooter to go around in “no time”.
